Walker Buehler gave quite a scare the other day during his rehab start with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. He exited the game early after taking a line drive off the knuckle of his throwing hand.
After the game, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Buehler was removed for precautionary reasons. However, followers of the team know that sometimes the organization can bury the lead a bit when it comes to injuries.
Buehler took to his Instagram to provide a positive update. He says he is fine and that he should make his next rehab start this coming Thursday.
Thursday will mark Buehler’s fourth rehab start as he makes his way back from his second major elbow surgery. Roberts has said, “that we are very close,” regarding when Buehler can make his return to a major league mound.
Not that the numbers matter too much in this instance, but Buehler has a 3.60 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in his three rehab starts this year.
