A day after having five prospects land on the new Baseball Prospectus Top 101 list, the Mets had three prospects named to Baseball America’s new Top 100.
On the list are:
INF Jett Williams: No. 30
INF Ronny Mauricio: No. 87
OF Drew Gilbert: No. 91
Williams made a serious impression in 2023 during his age-19 season, raking through three levels of the minors and finishing with Double-A Binghamton, where he is expected to begin the 2024 campaign.
President of baseball operations David Stearns recently said that Gilbert will begin the season with Triple-A Syracuse, putting him a phone call away from the majors.
As far as Mauricio, he is expected to miss most — and possibly all — of the 2024 season after suffering a torn ACL during winter ball that required surgery.
Curiously absent from the Baseball America list was INF Luisangel Acuña, who was No. 77 on the BP list.
OF Ryan Clifford (No. 76 per BP) and RHP Christian Scott (No. 88 per BP) were also not on the BA list.
