“Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play,” Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said in a statement. “He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy — everything that is important to our club.
“We are excited to have Ange join us as we prepare for the season ahead.”
Spurs had been without a permanent manger since Antonio Conte was sacked on March 27. The Italian coach was initially replace on an interim basis by his assistant, Cristian Stellini, who was himself sacked following a humiliating defeat to Newcastle in April.
Ryan Mason then took over until the end of the season, with Spurs finishing eighth in the Premier League that sees them miss out on European football next season.
Postecoglou, who was born in Greece but grew up in Australia, joined Celtic in 2021 and helped the club to win five trophies, including two SPFL titles and a domestic treble this season.
The 57-year-old coach has also enjoyed spells in Australia and Japan. He also spent four years as Australia’s national team head coach.
