Start time, TV, streaming, lineup for Dixie Vodka 400

It’s been nearly 20 months since the Cup Series raced in South Florida and nearly three years since a playoff race was held on NASCAR’s Southern-most track.

On Sunday, the Cup Series returns to Homestead-Miami Speedway, site of NASCAR’s season finale from 2002-2019. The track hosted a June race during the pandemic year of 2020 and a race in late February last year, but now it’s back in the playoffs — this time hosting the second race of the third round.

While victory lane at Homestead may not be as crazy as the previous two decades — when a champion was crowned — Sunday does offer a chance for another driver to clinch a berth in NASCAR’s version of the final four.

Joey Logano became the first playoff driver to lock up his spot in the Championship 4 last weekend, when the Team Penske driver chased down Ross Chastain to win at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. If one of the remaining seven playoff drivers takes the checkered flag on Sunday, half of the championship field will be determined.

Joey Logano, front left, and Christopher Bell, front right, lead the field to green to start last year’s Dixie Vodka 400 Homestead-Miami Speedway on Feb. 28, 2021.
