Oregon women’s basketball begins the season as an AP top 20 team

In 10 days, the Oregon women’s basketball team will begin the season with an exhibition game against Carroll College. They will do so as the No. 20 team in the nation, according to the first Associated Press poll.

The Ducks look to build upon last season, when they finished 20-12 and made the NCAA tournament. Although Oregon was bounced out in the first round in a double-overtime loss to Belmont, the Ducks have revamped the roster and should be a player in the Pac-12 once again.

To no one’s surprise, Stanford enters the season ranked No. 2, right behind top-ranked South Carolina.

Arizona is the only other Pac-12 team ranked: The Wildcats are just above the Ducks at No. 19. Utah and UCLA just missed the poll. They are the first two schools in the “received votes” category. Washington State received one vote.
