A dog and its owner had to be rescued rescued after falling 25ft over a cliff at a beauty spot in Scotland.
Coastguards raced to the scene at Dunskey Castle, Portpatrick, in Dumfries and Galloway after reports that a dog had fallen over the cliff.
Two people had gone to retrieve it and one of them, a man, had got stuck 25ft down the cliff face, Portpatrick Coastguard said.
The incident prompted a warning from the coastguard about walking dogs near the cliff after the incident was said to be the fourth cliff rescue involving a dog falling over the edge that they had carried out this year.
Sharing details of the rescue on Facebook, Portpatrick Coastguard said teams from Portpatrick, Stranraer, Drummore, Ballantrae and Portpatrick Lifeboat were all sent to the scene by Belfast Coastguard after reports of what had happened at 11.40am on Sunday (13 August).
They used rope rescue equipment to lower a cliff rescue technician down to get to the man, before winching him back up to safety.

The Facebook post added: “Casualty was safely recovered to cliff top where he was checked over and reunited with his family and dog.
“This is the fourth cliff rescue we have carried out this year regarding dogs falling over the cliff edge.
“We would strongly advise that anyone walking on the cliff paths with a dog keeps it in a lead at all times.
“If for any reason the dog ends up over the cliff, please do not try self rescue.”
Instead, they said people should dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.
The rescue comes just weeks after a dog miraculously survived after falling off a 300ft cliff at Porthkidney Beach in Cornwall.
The Labrador, called Quince, was saved after after his fall was broken by a ledge 50ft from the top of the cliff, allowing him to be rescued.
Specialist coastguard rescue teams had to lower someone down to the ledge who then returned Quince unharmed to his owner.
